О месте: Pansea Beach
Pansea is a small cove on Phuket's west coast, just north of Surin Beach and separated from it by a rocky outcrop, with Bang Tao around the next headland. It has deep, soft white sand, trees along the back, rocks at both ends and clear water in the high season. It is also known as Pansea Surin.
Like every beach in Thailand, Pansea is public by law, but the land around it belongs to two luxury resorts. The Surin covers the southern part of the sand with thatched umbrellas and beach villas; Amanpuri, open since 1988 and long a favourite of celebrities, holds the northern part. Sunbeds, toilets and showers are for their guests.
Without a room, the realistic ways in are a steep path over the headland from Surin Beach or a longtail boat from a nearby beach. The Surin's beach restaurant welcomes outside diners in the high season, which makes a sunset dinner the easiest way to see the cove.

A small, beautiful cove with deep, soft white sand, clear high-season water, trees along the back and rocks at both ends. For most visitors it is hard to reach: the land around it belongs to two luxury resorts, so without a room there you need a steep path or a boat, and there are no public facilities.

With the land held by two resorts, the sand is shared by a few guests; even in high season it rarely feels busy.

Rock formations close the cove on each side, with coral a short swim from the beach on calm days.

The path over the headland from Surin is steep and rough. Wear proper shoes and avoid it after rain or in the dark.
Longtails in the cove
Longtail boats sometimes drop people in the cove; look out for them when swimming near the shore.

Pansea Beach с детьми
For families staying at The Surin or Amanpuri, Pansea is a calm, quiet cove in the high season. For everyone else it is a poor choice with children: the way in is a steep path or a boat, and there are no public toilets, food or lifeguards.

Pansea lies just north of Surin Beach. Guests arrive through The Surin or Amanpuri; others walk over the steep headland from the north end of Surin Beach or come by longtail boat from a nearby beach.
- Пешком. From the north end of Surin Beach, a steep, hard-to-find path climbs over the headland and down to the cove.
- На лодке. A longtail from Surin or Bang Tao can drop you in the cove; resort staff may not be welcoming.

Surin is next door
For a normal beach day with parking and lifeguards, use Surin Beach just south; Pansea is a look-around, not a base.
Wear proper shoes
The path over the headland is steep and hard to find; sandals are a bad idea.
Be discreet
The beach is public, but the resorts control the land around it. Stay on the sand, keep to yourself and do not use their loungers.
Bring a mask
The rocks at both ends are the best part of the water on flat days; there is nowhere to rent gear unless you are a resort guest.
