La Green Serenity Spa is the spa of La Green Hotel & Residence, an apart-hotel in Cherngtalay about 700 metres inland from Layan Beach. It is a garden spa inside the hotel complex rather than a beachfront one, and it takes outside bookings. The menu runs from Thai, aromatic and Javanese massage to hot stones, scrubs, baths and facials, at prices between a town shop and a resort spa. The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are its unusual part: the sauna and steam can be booked on their own. Book ahead; children under 12 are not treated.

Treatments: Thai traditional, deep-stroke, aromatic and Javanese massage, foot reflexology, hot stones, body scrubs (coconut, coffee, Himalayan salt), mineral or rose-milk baths, facials and wraps.
Outside guests: You don't have to be staying at the hotel: the spa takes outside bookings, also online through the booking site GoWabi.
Prices: An hour of Thai massage is 1,100 baht, roughly double a Patong shop and roughly half a five-star resort spa.
Booking: Book ahead rather than walking in: the rooms are shared with hotel guests. Arrive 15 minutes early; cancel at least 24 hours ahead or pay in full.
With children: The spa does not take children under 12; the hotel has a kids' club and a children's pool.
Getting there: By car, scooter or the hotel's shuttle, with parking inside the hotel; about 20 minutes' drive from the airport.
Facilities: A sauna, a steam room and a jacuzzi; the sauna and steam room can be booked on their own, without a massage.
