Tarn Tara Spa in Chalong, established in 1998, calls itself Phuket's first day spa: a spacious waterfront complex among lush greenery with soft music and a quiet, countryside feel. Thai massage is the core of the menu, including 2–3 hour sessions, alongside aromatherapy massage, body scrubs and facials, and a therapist of either gender can be requested. Its hydrotherapy covers sauna, ice bath, steam and jacuzzi, and some 3–4 hour packages pair a hammam-style session with massage. The Romdee restaurant overlooks the water, and the spa's school teaches Thai massage and cooking. Prices are above street salons.
