关于神仙半岛

Promthep Cape is the southern tip of Phuket island, a high headland at the end of Rawai. Wiset Road climbs to it from Rawai's fishing waterfront, then turns north past the small cove of Ya Nui towards Nai Harn. The zone takes in the cape, Ya Nui on its western side and the hill above the cove, topped by a wind turbine.

The cape is also a village. Ban Laem Phromthep split from Rawai village in 1973 to become the council's village Moo 6. Its land had been kept as grazing ground since 1936; during the hard years of the Second World War villagers were allowed to farm it, and when a road was cut up the headland in 1976 families moved onto the cape. Its old name was Laem Kho Chao.

At the top stand the Kanchanaphisek Lighthouse, built in 1996, 19 m tall on a cliff 95 m above the sea, and a shrine to Brahma ringed by hundreds of elephant figures, left by people whose wishes came true. A steep path, with ropes in places, leads down the headland towards the rocks at its end.

Sunset is the cape's hour: tour buses and hundreds of visitors fill the terraces from about 17:00, and the last kilometre of road slows to a crawl. Mornings and middays are quiet. Food stalls, small shops, toilets and a free car park sit by the viewpoint, and on the road down to Ya Nui a hillside café looks out to the islet of Koh Man.

神仙半岛的亮点

  • The sunset crowd

The sun sets over the Andaman Sea between about 18:00 and 19:00, depending on the season; from about 17:00 the terraces fill with tour groups and families, so come 30 minutes early or watch from the Windmill Viewpoint instead.

  • Islands and coast

From the terraces the view runs over the open sea and the small islands off Rawai, and back up the west coast to Nai Harn Bay.

  • Free parking

The car park is free but fills quickly before sunset; the last kilometre of road becomes a slow queue, and scooters get through more easily.

  • Down the headland

A rough, steep path with ropes in places runs down the headland below the viewpoint; the footing is tricky, so good shoes and daylight help.

  • Eating nearby

Food stalls sell drinks and snacks at the top, Summore Day Cafe on the road down serves coffee and meals from 10:00 to 20:00, and two shaded restaurants face Ya Nui's beach.

  • At the top

Toilets, small shops, a Brahma shrine and the lighthouse; entry to the cape is free.

  • A short stop with children

The elephant figures and the lighthouse suit a short visit; keep children back from the cliff edge and off the path down.

地图上的房源和去处

神仙半岛的房源

The cape and the slopes above Ya Nui hold sea-view villas, a few small resorts and village houses of Ban Laem Phromthep; Ya Nui's two restaurants rent basic bungalows. Across Rawai, houses and villas were listed at about 22,000 to 165,000 THB a month in October 2026.

神仙半岛全年概况

旺季 · 11月至4月

November to April: clear skies and the best chance of a full sunset; Ya Nui's water is calm for snorkelling, and the cape is busiest from November to February.

淡季 · 5月至10月

May to October: cloud and showers often hide the sunset, and the west-coast swell can make Ya Nui too rough to snorkel; the viewpoint is quieter.

带孩子游神仙半岛

A good short stop with children: the elephant figures, the lighthouse and the view hold their interest for half an hour, and Ya Nui's calm cove for snorkelling is just below. The cliff edge and the path down the headland need close watching, and the sunset crowd is thick.

  • The Brahma shrine's hundreds of elephant figures are the children's favourite part.
  • Ya Nui's cove, about 1 km away, has shallow snorkelling in the high season.
  • Keep children away from the cliff edge and off the steep path down.
  • Toilets and drink stalls are at the top.
  • Come earlier in the afternoon to avoid the sunset crowd and the queue of cars.

神仙半岛小贴士

  • Come 30 minutes before sunset

The rail fills from about 17:00; arrive early, or watch from the Windmill Viewpoint, about 1 km north.

  • Ride rather than drive

At sunset the last kilometre queues and the car park fills; scooters get through more easily.

  • Try the morning

Sunrise and the early morning are quiet, with softer light for photos.

  • Wear proper shoes for the path

The way down the headland is steep and rough, with ropes in places; skip it in the rain.

  • No swimming at the cape

The headland is rock; Ya Nui's beach, about 1 km away, is the place to swim and snorkel.

  • Stalls are cheap but not the cheapest

Drinks and snacks at the top cost a little more than in Rawai, and the stalls pack up after dark.

  • Leave the elephants be

The figures at the Brahma shrine are offerings; look, but do not move or climb them.
