О месте: Wat Tha Sai (Wat Tes Tammanawa)
A small working temple on the open sand of Tha Sai beach in Thai Mueang district, north of Natai Beach. Its reason to stop is the ordination hall, built entirely of teak, 23 metres long and almost 14 metres high, standing so close to the water that the waves reach its base at high tide; it is said to be the only all-teak seafront ubosot in southern Thailand. Carved panels around the hall show the Ten Perfections of Buddhist practice as riddles worth reading slowly. A monk founded a residence here in 2003 and it became a temple in 2010. Entry is free, daily 08:00–17:00; come early or late in the day, bring water and check the tide.
