About Blue Elephant Phuket

Phuket Town's grandest Thai dining room: Blue Elephant restored Phra Pitak Chinpracha Mansion, a century-old governor's house that stood empty for years, and set its restaurant inside. You drive up through a large garden, climb the front steps and walk through a gallery to rooms inside or a terrace outside. The Thai menu is long and original, the house recommendations marked with a red elephant, and the curries — lamb, massaman, duck massaman — are mild rather than fiery. Expect around 1,500 THB a head. Cooking classes run upstairs.
