About Khao Lak Muay Thai & Muay Boran

A Thai-owned camp at Khuk Khak, a few minutes inland from the beach road, teaching both Muay Thai and Muay Boran, the older form that kept the elbows, throws and rituals the stadium rules dropped. Beginners and fighters train side by side in the group classes, 8 to 10 am and 4 to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday: bag work, pad rounds with ex-pro trainers and drills, with sparring optional. A class costs 300 baht and blocks bring it down; private hours are 800 baht. No kit is needed to start, and on Saturday mornings the class moves to the beach opposite La Vela.
