About Lard Yai Sunday Walking Street
Phuket Old Town's Sunday evening market, which locals call Lard Yai, the "big market". Since late 2013 the Sino-Portuguese shophouses of Thalang Road, from Thepkasattri Road to Phuket Road, have closed to traffic every Sunday from 16:00 to about 21:00 for some 360 metres of food stalls, Phuket sweets and specialities, handmade goods and street performers; the market has since spread to the parallel Phang Nga Road.
