The dry season
November to April: dry, sunny days and the main season for tours and charters to Phang Nga Bay and the islands; the marina is at its liveliest.
Marina · Ko Kaeo
A polished yacht basin north of Phuket Town: motor yachts below Thai-roofed condos, a boardwalk of restaurants, and tours out to Phang Nga Bay.
Royal Phuket Marina lies in Ko Kaeo on Phuket's east coast, about 10 minutes north of Phuket Town, right beside Boat Lagoon and sharing its approach channel. Opened in the mid-2000s, it is the newer and more polished of the two: a basin of motor yachts and sailing boats, ringed by low-rise condos with Thai-style roofs, waterfront villas with their own berths and a boardwalk of restaurants.
The marina holds five Gold Anchors, the top grade of an international marina rating, and has 100 wet berths, covered dry stack for 60 boats and hard standing for 26. After its inner channel was dredged in 2022, boats of up to 35 m can come and go at any hour, with about 2 m of water at the lowest tide.
Ashore, the boardwalk holds Italian, Asian, Vietnamese and Thai restaurants, cafés and bars, and the complex has a tennis club, a gym, a co-working office, yacht brokers, tour companies and Russia's Consulate General in Phuket. Late afternoon, when the light falls across the yachts, is the best time to walk round.

Low-rise condos with Thai-style roofs around the basin, penthouses, and waterfront villas with private berths. In October 2026 two-bedroom condos at the marina were listed at about 58,000 to 115,000 THB a month.
November to April: dry, sunny days and the main season for tours and charters to Phang Nga Bay and the islands; the marina is at its liveliest.
May to October: the east coast is sheltered from the south-west monsoon, so boats keep using the basin, but heavy showers are frequent and trips to the open sea depend on the weather.
Royal Phuket Marina is more for adults than for children: there is no beach and the restaurants are on the smart side, but a fountain plaza, Boat Lagoon's play areas next door and Finnway International School about 500 m away make it workable for families who live here.
The marina is signposted on Thepkasattri Road, the main road between Phuket Town and the airport, about 10 minutes north of town and 25 to 30 minutes from Patong. Most people come by car or scooter; the orange airport bus stops at Ko Kaeo.
Parking. Parking at the marina is free.
Drive in and park without charge; the entrance is signposted on Thepkasattri Road.
The light over the yachts is at its best then, and the heat has eased.

Villa Market in the Boat Lagoon mall, about 400 m away, stocks imported food and wine.
Since the 2022 dredging, boats of up to 35 m can use the inner channel at any tide; check the latest depths with the marina.

DCH Marine, the Asia-Pacific dealer for Sunseeker and other yacht brands, opened its Thailand office and showroom at the marina on 14 January 2026.
