The island's first marina, on the east coast in Koh Kaew about 10 km north of Phuket Town, right beside Royal Phuket Marina but more lived-in: shophouse homes stand on one side and casual waterfront restaurants and bars on the other. A large yard of 180 wet berths, 144 hardstands and 12 dry-stack bays services yachts, and a chandlery and tour offices serve the speedboat trips and charters that leave for Phang Nga Bay, Phi Phi and the Similans. By the road, a small mall has Villa Market, cafés and a spa.
