About Tatum Timsum

An old-school dim sum shop — "since 2544" on the sign, that is 2001 — now in a renovated building near the Sam Yaek Wichit junction. There are no trolleys: you choose from the big metal steamers at the counter and the plates come to your table. The shumai is the real thing, packed tight with pork, and also comes fried, which is rare in Phuket; the dipping sauce, spicy, sour and sweet at once, is what locals talk about. An early-morning place, open from dawn to lunchtime.
