About Shrimp Noodles Ao Kae
A noodle shop on Phoonphol Road that does one thing: shrimp noodles on a fragrant, slightly sweet broth made from prawn heads and shells. Each bowl carries halved prawns, pork wontons and sliced pork over yellow or Hokkien noodles, in soup or dry, plain or tom yum; the dry tom yum, with the broth on the side, is the strongest. The pork wontons are the MICHELIN Guide's favourite. A late-morning or lunch stop: open 10:00–15:00.
