About Krua Kao Kuk

A casual shophouse on Phatthana Road that grew out of a roadside stall: a Peranakan family founded it in 1995, and the founder's granddaughter runs it now. It is famous for boiled rice with fish, and the home-style dishes around it are as good — start with the family's deep-fried meatballs, then fish cooked the old Phuket way. Budget prices and a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand. Open daily 11:30–20:30.
