About Fran's Phuket
Bangkok's favourite brunch restaurant has moved into one of Phuket Town's landmark houses: an 85-year-old Sino-Portuguese mansion on the Si Yaek Merlin corner of Yaowarat Road, built by a tin-mining millionaire and long a closed-up antiques shop. A glass pavilion beside it links old and new. Mornings are for brunch; in the evening the menu turns bistro — clam vongole, grilled squid, a whole crab in a bisque-style sauce.
