About Chuan Heang Dim Sum Restaurant
One of the few places on the island where Phuket people still outnumber visitors at seven in the morning. You find a table, then walk to the steaming stations at the front and point; staff carry the tray, and the bill is counted from the empty plates. Har gow is what most come for, with pork or crab siu mai, herbal pork rib soup and mee sua, a Phuket noodle soup hard to find elsewhere. Plain and loud, steel tables and steam, and cheap: most dishes cost 30 to 50 baht.
