A family café in Thalang with a difference: a large walk-in enclosure of about 30 small parrots, a big white parrot and a peacock, more peacocks and Java sparrows in cages outside, and a turtle area that is easy to miss. The only entry cost is a 40-baht bag of bird food, and the birds are bold enough to land on your shoulder. The kitchen is the reason to come back — the owners catch the fish themselves, served as fish and chips, burgers, salads, steaks or a Thai sashimi platter. Allow an hour and a half.
