โรงพยาบาลสัตว์ทองหล่อ ภูเก็ต สาขาฉลอง

Thonglor Pet Hospital, a Bangkok-based chain with branches in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Rayong and Phuket and one in Ho Chi Minh City.

Dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals.

Open for emergencies 24 hours every day (breathing difficulty, seizures, collapse, accidents, heavy bleeding, a swollen belly, inability to urinate); the hospital asks owners to call 081 895 3277 on the way.

An English-speaking team explains symptoms, tests, treatment plans and estimated costs to foreign owners.

Thonglor offers pet insurance for dogs and cats across the chain; details from its Bangkok head office, 02 079 9999. The site does not say whether the branch bills other insurers.

The pet hotel keeps dogs and cats in separate areas, fed and cleaned to the owner's routine; medical boarding for animals on medication.

A pet taxi collects animals for owners who cannot bring them; ask the branch about the area, times and cost.

Specialist schedules vary by day: call the branch to check and book; in an emergency, call on the way.

On Chao Fa West Road about a kilometre south of Wat Chalong, next to Tesco Lotus Chalong.

Major credit cards accepted.
