About Wat Manik (Wat Thepwanaram)

An open forest temple in Si Sunthon, about ten minutes inland, set up by monks in 1977 on what had been a burial ground. Most people come for the market and never reach the back, where a large white chedi is rising. A gold-robed seated Buddha, a red and gold ordination hall and a gilded monk's figure are the things to find. Free.

Also known as Wat Thepwanaram, Wat Mahanik
