About Peang Prai

A family restaurant hidden in the forest at the entrance to Bang Pae waterfall, in Pa Khlok. Two wooden pavilions linked by a terrace look over a small lake and a wall of jungle, and the calls of the gibbons from the rehabilitation centre nearby carry over lunch. The cooking is Thai and southern Thai with local Phuket dishes; seasonal clams, stir-fried with chilli paste, are a highlight. Most dishes cost about 100–120 THB. It is in the MICHELIN Guide and is busy with young Thai families at weekends; open daily from 10:00 (09:00 on Saturday) to 20:00.
