About Micky Monkey Beach Bar & Restaurant

A family-run beach shack on Mai Khao, the island's longest and emptiest beach, in a gap between the big resorts where anyone can walk in. Tables are a mix of timber and plastic under casuarina trees, the best ones out on the sand; chickens wander between them. The cooking is plain Thai with a seafood lean at local prices. The reason to come is the sunset straight into open sea, often with planes passing low on their way into the airport.

As the record has it

Setting

Mismatched timber and plastic tables under casuarinas; low tables on the sand about thirty metres from the water; chickens between the tables.

Booking
