About Mee Sapam
A big, busy hall of stone tables on the airport road north of Phuket Town, where Grandma Chian began frying noodles next to her grocery in 1952 and her family still cooks her recipes. The dish to order is the one it is named after: mee sapam, thick yellow Hokkien noodles fried with shrimp, squid, kale and the house fish balls — ask for a soft egg on top and stir in the yolk. O-tao, stir-fried oysters with crispy egg roll and hor mok round out a cheap lunch. Listed in the MICHELIN Guide; open daily 08:00–17:00.
