About Laem Hin Pier
A small, plain pier on the east coast of Phuket Town where longtail boats leave for the islands just offshore: Koh Maphrao (Coconut Island) in about ten minutes and Rang Yai in about twenty. Boats are booked at the little tour office in front of the pier or arranged with the drivers; a return trip to Rang Yai costs around 2,500 THB for the whole boat, waiting time included. Laem Hin Seafood sits at the water's edge, and two floating seafood restaurants lie in the channel towards Koh Maphrao.
