About Bang Rong Pier
A working pier on the north-east coast, about 20 minutes' drive from the airport, and the usual way across to Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai. Speedboats leave through the day, roughly from 07:30 to 17:00, take 25–30 minutes and cost around 300–400 THB a person; slower longtails take about an hour. There are ticket counters, a small waiting area and a few food stalls, nothing more: it is a place to pass through, so arriving about fifteen minutes before a departure is enough. Some Koh Yao resorts send guests this way from the airport.
