View Cafe at Phuket

A café on a narrow road winding up the hills above Bang Wad Reservoir, hard enough to find that most visitors are locals. Seating spreads over several levels — an air-conditioned room with wooden floors and chandeliers, a glass-roofed terrace with rattan chairs, small balconies between old trees — and the outdoor tables seem to hang over the jungle. The menu is mostly Thai food, coffee and desserts: a place to sit with the view rather than a dining destination. Go by car or scooter, in daylight.
