About Baan Pu Doo Lay Cafe
An easy viewpoint stop on the way down from the Big Buddha that most people drive past. The bar counter follows the edge of the terrace, so you drink facing the view: Chalong below, the pier and the boats in the bay, the islands beyond and, on a clear day, the coast as far as Cape Panwa. A thatched bar, a swing and grassy terraces step down the hill, with a covered dining room behind for Thai and Western food. It faces east, so come by day, not for the sunset.
