The JW Marriott's bar on Mai Khao Beach, at the quiet northern end of the island, under tall casuarina trees a few metres from the sand. It has an outdoor terrace with sofas facing the sea, a covered room for rainy days and a small rooftop above. Drinks and food are decently priced for a five-star resort. Evenings bring a live band, a DJ in season, and a fire show every Saturday from 19:00. It is a calm, slow place for a sunset drink rather than a pool club.
