An ethical elephant sanctuary in the forest of north-east Phuket, near Bang Pae waterfall, opened in 2016 by a former camp owner who gave up elephant rides. Visitors watch rescued elephants roam and bathe, on a booked morning or afternoon session or from a canopy walkway; programmes start at 1,900 baht.
